Everyone is welcome to attend.  If you decide to take a course, you can register that evening at the center!

SPEND YOUR NCLB TITLE IID FUNDS NOW!

======================================

http://www.nheon.org/oet/nclb

For those of you who manage federal educational technology grants (NCLB Title IID) for your district, it is imperative that you check the status of your grant funds. Any projects which were awarded during the 2004-05 school year will expire on or before June 30, 2006 (some district projects have already expired). This means you MUST obligate your funds before that date and you MUST submit your quarterly reports to the DOE Business Office no later than July 15th.

In addition, if you have grants which were issued in the 2005-06 school year, PLEASE spend and REPORT the funds as soon as possible. There are too many districts who are attempting to carryover too much of their funds to the following year. This causes TOO MUCH MONEY to be left to the very end and creates the possibility that the funds will have to be RETURNED to the federal government.

======================================

REALLOCATION OF TITLE IID FUNDS

======================================

http://www.nheon.org/oet/nclb

There are districts that have not submitted updated technology plans, which means they cannot be awarded their NCLB Title IID (Enhancing Education Through Technology) allocation dollars. There are also districts that have not submitted any technology grant application at all this year. If you have not submitted an application for funds, you run the risk of losing access to those funds. We CANNOT hold onto these funds indefinitely. This summer we will be reallocating all unused and unclaimed Title II-D funds. If you are unsure of your grant status, contact Cathy Higgins at chiggins @ ed.state.nh.us.

Regards,

Cathy Higgins

About ET News

ET News is sent from the Office of Educational Technology at the New Hampshire Department of Education. ET News serves as a primary e-mail communication tool about technology matters pertinent to NH educators. Current and previous issues are posted on the web at www.nheon.org/oet/etnews and include information about:

·         NHDOE technology surveys and technology planning

·         Federal technology funding and E-rate discounts

·         Research studies, curriculum information, and professional development related to technology implementation

Requests from service providers to disseminate information about their technology products and services using the electronic newsletter ET News can no longer be accommodated due to workload priorities in OET. Providers are referred to the Reports and Statistics section of the NHDOE website, where several data reports are available in various formats, including School and SAU Information with names, phone numbers, and addresses, Student Dropout Data, and more. Go to the Reports and Statistics area of the NHDOE website at: www.ed.state.nh.us
