E-RATE UPDATE

======================================

www.nheon.org/oet/erate

You Need a New FRN for E-Rate

This is to remind you of a filing request related to the E-Rate program. The Federal Communications Commission (FCC) is requesting all participants in the E-Rate program to obtain an FCC Registration Number (FRN) by November 1, 2004.  If you have not already done so, it is important that you apply for this number by the stated deadline.

The reason for the request is that the new E-rate application does not have a block for the FCC Registration Number.  The applicant must add this in their Item 21 attachment.  If it is not included in the application, you are guaranteed a call during the review process from Program Integrity Assurance requesting your number. The long-range plan is that the registration number will eventually replace the entity number.

Applying for the FCC Registration Number is easy and takes less than 5 minutes.  You will need your Employer Identification Number (EIN).  This link takes you to the FCC core site for applying for the registration number: https://svartifoss2.fcc.gov/cores/CoresHome.html.
