NETDAY SPEAKUP DAY FOR TEACHERS !!!

======================================

http://www.netdayspeakup.org/

New Hampshire teachers are invited and encouraged to participate in NetDay Speak Up Day for Teachers, an online event to learn more about teacher views on technology use in school. Based on Speak Up Day for Students, the teacher survey will provide participating schools and the educational community with a better understanding of how and why teachers use technology in their professional and personal lives. The survey is available only until May 7th at http://www.netdayspeakup.org/.

To date, over 6,800 teachers from all across the country have already taken the easy to use, 15 minute survey. A small number of New Hampshire teachers have taken the survey, but we would like to insure that NH teachers have a significant voice in this national dialogue on how technology can impact teaching and learning. Please take 15 minutes out of your day to visit the site.

Why? The purpose of Speak Up Day for Teachers is threefold:

  1. To collect national data about how teachers feel about using the Internet and technology in their professional and personal life.
  2. To raise awareness about the importance of teacher voice as a stakeholder in technology decisions.
  3. To promote conversations at the local school level about the role of technology in learning with input from students through the first Speak Up Day and from teachers.

Participation is not time consuming or difficult - a school contact simply needs to register their school to participate at the NetDay site and then share the survey URL with the school's teachers. The survey can be taken online from any computer with Internet access. After the survey closes, NetDay will provide information back to registered schools as to how they can access their own aggregated data.

We encourage you to sign up your school and get your teachers involved!

School Tech Coordinators, please take note! The 2003-04 school building technology survey, available at http://nh.vived.com, will be CLOSED as of May 14th for the 2003-04 data collection period. School building technology coordinators are advised to complete the survey ASAP. This annual survey provides critical data for technology planning and funding decisions. All schools within a district applying for technology funds administered by the NH Department of Education must complete this survey each year.
